Costs for F-1 and J-1 REGISTERED Students
The current costs for F-1 and J-1 REGISTERED students are divided into 2 separate charges: the basic health fee and the major medical fee. These charges will show up differently for full and part time students. For full time students, the basic health fee will be included in your total campus fees and you will only see a separate charge on your term bill for the major medical fee. For part time students you will see 2 separate charges on your term bill, one for the basic health fee and one for the major medical fee.

Costs for F-2 and J-2 Dependents of REGISTERED Students
Payment to enroll F-2 and J-2 dependents of registered students can be made on a semester only. Enrollment forms are available at the Center for Global Services. Any completed enrollment forms and payment should be returned to the Center for processing. Costs for the current academic year are:

Costs for J-1s OTHER THAN REGISTERED STUDENTS
Non registered J-1 Visa holders are enrolled in benefits through their host department. J-1 visitors are enrolled for the full period covered by their DS-2019 form, calculated on the current cost of $200.00 per month.


Costs for J-2 Dependents of J-1s OTHER THAN REGISTERED STUDENTS
Payment to enroll a J-2 dependent of a J-1 visitor who is not a registered student is done based on the validity dates of the J-1 visitor's current DS-2019, calculated on a monthly basis. If the dependent visa is being requested at the time of the initial DS-2019, the payment must be for the full period of the DS-2019 and must be submitted to the Center by the host department along with the payment for the primary visa holder. If the dependents are coming after the J-1 has arrived, the payment must be made by the J-1 visitor directly to the Center and will be calculated on a monthly rate beginning the month the DS-2019 request is submitted to the Center through the end of the J-1 visitor's current DS-2019.

The current costs for J-2 dependents are:

Spouse or Domestic Partner - $168.00/month
One Child - $168.00/month
Two or More Children - $336.00/month
Spouse + Two or More Children - $504.00/month

For insurance purposes, the fall semester coverage begins mid-August and ends mid-January. The spring semester coverage begins mid-January and ends mid-August
